helping remove barriers
Internship Program
Part of our mission is to provide vocational mentorship for those with barriers to employment including those coming out of correctional centres and recovery programs. After seeing a need within our community, Victory Coffee + Kitchen created an 18-month paid internship program designed to help everyone walk in freedom*. A foundational pillar of Victory Coffee + Kitchen is community and we understand that community has to be built brick by brick. We are committed to that journey.
The purpose of our internship program is to employ and encourage individuals who have employment barriers. The internship program is designed to help provide a safe and nurturing environment. We want to identify and develop each individual’s talents and passions. Our goal is to help them take an actionable direction toward their future career and personal goals.
Victory Coffee + Kitchen will be used as the vehicle to continue to challenge our interns as they grow. We are dedicated to providing them with skills and education in areas such as: food sourcing, food prep, cooking, coffee sourcing, coffee brewing, hospitality as well as interpersonal and spiritual skills. Our goal is to ensure a high standard of excellence is maintained in every skill achieved.
The Journey
Their 18-month paid internship journey will include an individualized mentorship plan to ensure our interns are growing in all areas of development:
- Required to fulfill goals
- Daily interpersonal check-in
- 1-on-1 mentorship
- Daily journal and reflection work
We want all of our interns to feel valued, invested in, challenged, equipped and loved. Our mentorship program will prepare our interns to begin looking for permanent employment options. This will include preparing resumes, cover letters, interview coaching and more. Every intern should come out of our program feeling that they are on a clear path toward God’s vision for their life. Our goal is to provide the support and community for them to confidently succeed.
We love our community and are looking forward to seeing lives changed!
* Currently, our program is through referral only.
